Storied: The Coronado Chapter, May 23, 2026
thank you.

Storied started on a Saturday morning in Coronado.

Neighbors arrived on foot, by bike and with dogs in tow. People stayed longer than anyone planned: reading the story at each door, talking with neighbors, and browsing books with Nancy from the What’s Your Story Mobile Bookstore.

Coronado took shape in the first half of the twentieth century, one home at a time, and the City of Phoenix designated it a historic district in 1986. That history lives in the Craftsman bungalows, Spanish Colonials and ranch houses, and just as much in the families who keep them homes: a house that held a family’s whole life, songs written in a backyard, a bungalow across from Coronado Park built for gathering.

Mornings like this work when people say yes, and when we’re all willing to try something new. Yes to opening a door, sharing a family story, setting up a bookstore on the sidewalk. Thank you to the homeowners who shared their stories and opened their doors, and to the agents who jumped in to bring it to life.

One thing we learned: two hours wasn’t enough. People wanted more time with the homes, the stories and each other. So Chapter Two in Roosevelt ran four.

And thank you to every neighbor who walked over, shared a story and stayed to hear one. This neighborhood has always been built by people who show up. On Saturday, you did.

We’re already wondering where Chapter Three should be. If you have a street, a house or a neighborhood in mind, tell us below.
